LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD

Dear Friends,

It is very gratifying to see the number of e-mail requests we have already received from people throughout the world who would like to participate in our Services this Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. Thus far, we have reserved the Dedicated Seats for those holding them who have advised us that they will join us. From now until August 5th, we will accept reservations from Supporting Members. If you would like to join The Jerusalem Great Synagogue as Supporting Members for 5771, you may fill out the form on our Website and e-mail it to us. The annual payment is 500 NIS or $180. You will then be entitled to a 10% discount on the price of up to two seats for the Yamim Noraim 5771. We will accept reservations from the public as of August 11th. If you would like to e-mail us your reservation request, please either click on "reply" to this email, or send us an e-mail to jgs@zahav.net.il Please specify the first and last name of each person, male or female, adult or child/student and whether the reservation is for Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur or both.

Our next Lone Soldiers Leil Shabbat Program is scheduled for Friday evening, August 6th. Do you have the qualifications and are prepared to make the necessary commitment to become a Member of The Jerusalem Great Synagogue Choir? Maestro Elli Jaffe is once again offering the opportunity to Basses, Baritones and Tenors who would like to join the Choir to audition with him. If you are interested, please contact him at ellijaffe@gmail.com

Please note that until August 8th, the Main Synagogue and the Rosenbaum Mezuzah Collection will be open for visitation Sundays-Thursdays between the hours of 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. It is always best to call our office (02-923-0628 ext 4) in advance because we are unable to receive visitors if there is an event taking place in the Synagogue during those hours.
